I recently stopped in the creative space at Norquay Co. to see how they turn paddles into paintings and learn a little about the "art of camping".
A couple of years ago, Natasha the owner and designer Natasha had stopped by the Oopsmark studio looking for a way to hang their paddles on the wall. Fully functional in the water, the paddles can also be painted in minimal, colourful geometric designs and displayed on a wall, becoming beautiful and functional art objects. The solution was a removable leather strap that holds the paddle suspended from a small finishing nail. We've been producing them for her ever since.
We've also been hot branding all of her paddles with her logo using some of the tools and techniques we use to brand our leather products.
